BERLIN -- The German government wants to regulate Internet portals. This was reported by the magazine "Telebvrse" with reference to Alfred Tacke, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economics.

Tacke is reported to have announced to a group of telecommunications experts in Bad Honnef, "We will deal with business portals sometime this year." The goal apparently is to prevent "accumulations of power" on the Internet, "so that mid-sized companies also have a chance."

To achieve this, the general conditions would have to be organized in such a way that the e-commerce platforms "can continue to exist in the face of monopolies commissions both in Europe and in America."
