Seattle-based Web consulting and development company Portent Interactive launched earlier this week a data mining system for Internet PR measurement.

According to Portent Interactive President Ian Lurie, until now, it's been very difficult to measure PR's influence on a business. "It's always been difficult to measure just how effective a campaign really is. PRSleuth allows periodic measurement of PR-related site traffic," says Lurie.

The new service measures incoming Website traffic generated by Internet-based press, including press releases, articles, reviews and interviews. The reports show traffic rate, browsing patterns through the site and visitor behavior such as total time spent on the Web site.

Portent Interactive is also offering consulting services to help professionals make best use of the new reporting system.
