Pumatech Rolls Out Web Sync
The new service is in addition to the company's synchronization platforms and software for individuals and for the enterprise. The Web-based service provides a centralized sync service for handhelds, Net-enabled phones as well as desktop and laptop computers.
In addition to the standard practice of synchronizing contacts, appointments and to-dos, the service also caches Web pages for off-line browsing. It also can provide alerts about specific information, such as changes in stock prices, according to the company.
Users ultimately will be charged for the service, but it will be free until late Spring, according to Pumatech. It provided no specific pricing information.
