i just baught a netgear wpn824 router. i plugged my xbox to it and it seemed to work great. until i tried streaming music from 1 of my computers. the song plays normally until there is 10 seconds left of the song and then i all stops! the music keeps playing but i can't control the browser. i changed network and system settings trying to figure out what was wrong, nothing has worked so far. i got the suggestion in another forum that it might have something to do with the cache but i changed to the default settings and the problem was still there. do i have to adjust my router in some way?! has anyone had a problem like this before?? it's getting really frustrating! i would sooo appreciate the help!!problem solved. i simply removed xbmc an reinstalled it. it must have been some corrupted files or something cause now it runs beutifully! thanks for the help though.. i i checked the log file and that was when i thaught of the reinstallation..i doesn't sound like a network issue to me. the fact that the music continues to play and the gui freezes up on you suggests that something is causing the system to lock up. i used to have the same problem on older (and i mean way older, like a year ago) builds, but it was intermittant and only seemed to happen while i was running visualizations.
some things that you can do:
1) make sure you're running a new build. in the world of xbmc, anything over a month old is ancient, so try building a newer version/obtaining a newer prebuilt version.
2) enable debug logging and when it hangs, reboot the xbox and look at the end of the xbmc.old.log file in your xbmc folder. it will probably give you some sort of indication as to what is causing the lockup.
3) if you're still stumped, post the relevant portions of the log file in the forum and we can take a look at it and see what's going on.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
