My PC has been working without any problems untill on Friday it did not shut down properly and I had to turn it off at the switch, this has happened before but it has always turned back on again. However on Sunday I tried to turn it on and only the fans and lights turned on, no loading screen appears and the monitor does not recieve a signal. I noticed before turning on the PC that the Power supply unit makes a high pitch noise.
I have tried checking all internal connections but this did not help.
Has anyone else had this problem or know what might be causing it or how to fix it.
Any help would be appriciated. from what you say you can't hear the hard drive start. if this is the case it could be the PSU or the main board. I would try the PSU first as it should not make that noise and is cheaper than a board to replace.
In most case that I have seen this it has been the PSU how are you writing this?it could be a number of thins, from something not plugged in right, to the power supply fan blew, or other various things, mebe the monitor isnt working u should check that.. but if anything take it to a computer store and ask them to look at it to see what u need to replace n i dont think they will charge you for the lookIt happened to me last last month and I got the help of a computer technician. The computer technician repair it then it work again properly.i haven't had that problem but you should try and get a new monitor or something.Your video card may be fried.
In any case, let's hope it's not fried. Turn it off, unplug it from the wall outlet. Let it rest for 2 minutes. Plug in and turn on.
If it doesn't help take it to a techy.OH GAWD
that EXACT same thing has happened to me, my boyfriend replaced the motherboard for me & it works now...
we tryed everything! changing every internal & external cable etc.. but in the end the motherboard needed to be changed.
which was a pain, i'm just getting a new computer & putting all my internal memory on an external drive :( so that i can still have an amazing ipod, get an engeneer out, he may be able to help...well. have u tried checking the cables that connects ur monitor?the unusual sound from the power supply indicates something screwed with the power box.......either that...your motherboards spoilt....to start troubleshooting......first use a spare power supply and fix up on the PC if its a desktop.......if it doesn't work.....then your motherboards failed........normally it depends on how much you have used your PC.....if the usage is very very heavy over a long period of time.....most likely the power supply's dead......a good motherboard if you haven't accidentally electrocuted it or killed it with static should last quite long......presumely about 5 good years i say......Could be a number of things. Most likely a part fried, maybe the power supply. Won't know till you get parts tested.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
