What programs can b e deleted for additional space on my Dell 2000
computer. At 82 I cannot afford to spend money for outside help. Can
anyone help me? Thank you so much!I think all you really need is a reverese sorted, descending list of
all your folders and how much space they're taking up. Try this

To start if your operative system is Windows Me or Windows XP,
disabling System Restore you can recover free space.

livioflores-gaHow large is your hard drive? To find this double-click the 'my
computer' icon usually in the upper right corner of your monitor, and
a new box will pop up. Right-click on the white background of this new
box, then click on the word Properties. This will tell you the size of
your hard drive and the space available.
In my dealings with older users, primairly my parents who are roughly
your age, are far to concerned with the free space available on the
hard drive. These days they make drives so large that unless you're
storing thousands of mp3 files or something, you simply don't need to
worry much about available space. And definately never spend even two
seconds wondering if you should de-frag. That's a left over tactic
from the early or mid 90's for clearing up a little room on what were
then very small hard drives.

I don't know what operating system the Dell 2000 uses. To check go to
start -> run then type winver . You should get a screen telling
you the version of windows you are running. I am going to assume it is
Microsoft Windows XP home edition.
If so, can you give us a list of installed programs. You can do this
by going to start->settings->control panel->Add or Remove Programs.
This will work on most other windows versions as well.Format everything, then restart again.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
