Hardware issues

  • Hi it's X again,
I've been running SuSe for a little bit now and when it first was installed everything was working fine, but after it's been running for a few days some things have started to stop working. One of the things that have stopped working is my DVD/CDRW drive. Not only is that not working but I've noticed that my sound isn't working either :S hopefully some of you lovely people out there can help me get at least one of my two problems fixed.

    Ty,
    X

hmm, pls could you post your dmesg output, uname -a and your /etc/fstab (to see if the DVD combo drive is mounting).

    synack.

  • :S a little bit of trouble here. I don't know if you've played with this distro, but the architecture is a little bit different the some other distros. it comes up with an error saying that /etc/fstab isn't a directory. Sorry, but I'm kind of a noob when it comes to linux :(
