Which computer apps do you use for college?

Which computer programs/websites do you use for college/studying? I use Word and Excel a lot as far as programs go. I don't use many websites that are for college help, but I use the websites my professors make through the school. If I have a textbook with a website, it generally also has a "quiz yourself" section that I like to use.
  • The Microsoft Office (or Open Office) suite is invaluable. The rest will depend on what you're majoring in - photoshop, Origin, SigmaPlot, things like that. Your professor will tell you if you need to buy it, and most schools offer them at a big discount - even Microsoft Office - so you might want to wait until you get to campus.
  • To be honest, even doing at I.T related degree all you need is basic computing skills starting college. If you can create, edit and save Microsoft Files, and send an email then your on the ball.
Also basic internet navigation is a help. You will get pointed in the right direction by your professors anyhows.
  • MS Office, SAP 2000, AutoCad, Staad Pro and End Note
