Problem between OutPost Firewall 2008 the game 'Savage 2'

  • Hello everyone,

    Context :

    I use to work on windows XP and outpost firewall 4.0, without problem at all.
    I have formatted my computer yesterday (still windows XP) and downloaded the last outpost.

    Problem :

    -The game 'Savage 2' cannot transfert data from the internet :
    - I can see in outpost that the connection is established with the server, but the game say it cannot update and login. Of course the game is in the trusted application group.
    - I have tried to disable le protection -> same result.
    - I have tried to quit outpost (application and service) -> the game works fine.

    Other problem (less important) :
    -System hang at startup if i install avast antivirus (and you cannot change the level of avast shield in safe mode (cf. outpost FAQ), because the avast must be started to change it's level)

    Hoping i'm not the only one with this issue.

  • You must install your anti-virus before installing Outpost. If you have not done so, you will need to uninstall Outpost and then re-install it again, making sure that your anti-virus is installed first.

    You may also have to disable Outpost starting at start-up, although I have installed it successfully on two machines that have Windows XP SP2. My machines run Vista.

    Another thing you can do, and this is with any application, is to go into settings and click on Network Rules, and the one for that particular application, including the one in trusted mode, as it still has to have rules for it to work, click on it and click on options and you will see Content Filtering, make sure that it says block filtering and see if that helps.
