ViAir Sets Up Shop in Europe
From its offices on 268 Bath Road in Slough Berkshire, ViAir's European executives plan on targeting European wireless carriers and ISPs with ViAir's mobile platform and applications.
ViAir designed its platform to integrate third party applications and give its customers the ability to monetize, simplify, own and add value to the end user's wireless Web experience.
Built on its carrier-grade platform, WirelessInbox and WirelessInbox Enterprise give users direct access to their existing Internet and corporate e-mail, calendar and contacts using any Web-enabled device.
Considering that the wireless market is expected to grow from 170 million subscribers worldwide in 2000 to greater than 1.3 billion in 2004, the majority of those users being European, looks like ViAir is on the right track.
ViAir is beginning its European operations with confidence gained in the North American arena.
ViAir CEO Bruce Chatterley notes that in less than one year his company has been able to establish multiple commercial customer relationships with major North American wireless carriers and ISPs.
Nextel Communications and Rogers AT&T Wireless, for example, have already deployed ViAir's technology to their North American mobile customers.
"These customers saw the opportunity to jump-start adoption and usage of their wireless Web services using ViAir's unique communications-centric wireless web application. Our successful track record in deploying our solution in large scale carrier and service provider environments across North America has given us a strong platform to aggressively launch our products in the European market," says Chatterley.
